Some of the best Cape Town birding locations on this tour include: Cape of Good Hope (Cape Point), Boulders Penguin Colony, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, Strandfontein Sewage Works (aka Strandfontein Birding Area) and various other points along the Atlantic seaboard. We will bird a combination of these sites depending on your personal objectives and the weather on the day. The birder can expect to see between 70-100 species on this exciting day of birding.
Target species: Orange-breasted Sunbird, Cape Sugarbird, Cape Grassbird, Cape Sisken, Bank Cormorant, African Penguin, Rufous-chested Sparrowhawk, Lemon Dove, Maccoa Duck, Black-necked Grebe, Spotted Eagle Owl, Cape and Forest Canary, Cape Batis, Cape Rock Thrush, Water and Spotted Thick-knee.
Mammals: Chacma Baboon, Rock Hyrax, Small Grey Mongoose, Cape Mountain Zebra, Bontebok, Cape Grysbok, Cape Fur Seal, Southern Right Whale, Hump-backed Whale, Bryde's Whale, Common Dolphin, Dusky Dolphin.
